Thanksgiving Service

Thanksgiving essentially being a day to thank god is celebrated all over the world with fun and fervor. There are various Thanksgiving services that are organized in churches on Thanksgiving. The Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church arranges a Thanksgiving service called the Thanksgiving Ebenezer Service.
According to this Thanksgiving service a large stone is placed in the center of chairs. There are several passageways to cross over and reach the stone. The Thanksgiving service begins at 10am. The main purpose to hold Thanksgiving services is to contemplate on god and thank him for his bountiful blessings.

The people along with offering Thanksgiving services also get a chance to place representative objects beside the stone. The kids enjoy offering the Thanksgiving service on Thanksgiving. The priest in order to make the Thanksgiving service a little different keeps aside a box of river or beach stones near the door.
This is done for the benefit of the people to take away these as they enter. The Thanksgiving service starts with a reflection of the Thanksgiving psalm. This in turn is followed by Thanksgiving hymns. This hymn goes as - We Gather Together To Ask The Lord's Blessing, Call To

Thanksgiving-Collosians 3:15-17 or Ephesians 5:18b-20, Responsive Readings-One of the Hallel Psalms such as 145 or 147. Then we have Homily and again a Hymn followed by Raising our Stone to the Lord, once again a Hymn and finally A Song of Praise-Give Thanks with a Joyful Heart.
The Thanksgiving service is the best way to offer prayers and thank god on Thanksgiving. So while everyone is happily enjoying in the Thanksgiving celebrations don't forget to attend the Thanksgiving service to please god on Thanksgiving.
