Halloween is just the perfect time for a fun Halloween party; where even adults can let down their hair, dress up in a Halloween costume and have as much fun as the kids.

Halloween although well known for trick or treat and lots of candy, does not have to center around this alone. There are lots of Halloween recipes to tickle the taste buds. Homemade Halloween recipes are best for Halloween party foods. Children enjoy eating and making Halloween recipes for the Halloween party.

Ingredients
˝ pumpkin, de-seeded and cut into wedges
85g/3oz sprouting broccoli
1 tomato, quartered
4 sprigs of fresh thyme
3 tbsp olive oil
salt
freshly ground black pepper
2 garlic cloves, crushed
85g/3oz easy cook rice
55ml/2fl oz white wine
350ml/12fl oz stock (vegetable or chicken)
2 tbsp butter

Method
  1. Preheat oven to 250C/500F/Gas 9.

  2. Preheat an ovenproof griddle pan.

  3. Place the pumpkin, broccoli, tomato and thyme in the griddle. Drizzle over two tbsp oil and season.

  4. Griddle vegetables for two minutes, before transferring them to the oven for 6- 8 minutes.

  5. Heat the remaining oil in a medium pan.

  6. Add the garlic and sauté over a gentle heat for two minutes.

  7. Add the rice and stir well to coat the grains with oil.

  8. Pour in the wine.

  9. When the rice absorbs the wine, add a little stock.

  10. Continue to add the stock, a little at a time, until the rice is cooked (about 10-12 minutes).

  11. Remove the vegetables from the oven.

  12. When the rice is cooked, add the butter then spoon onto a large serving plate.

  13. Tip the griddled vegetables on top of the rice and serve.
