Christmas Winter Morning

What better way to start your Christmas winter Morning than with these lines:

“What is the song the angels sing?
Sweetly sing, gladly sing;
What is the song the angels sing,
On a Christmas morning?
O, “Peace on earth,” the angels sing,
Sweetly sing, gladly sing,
O, “Peace on earth,” the angels sing,
On a Christmas morning”

These are the lines from the poem “On a Christmas Morning” by William Augustine Ogden. It’s a Christmas winter morning and you can listen to angels singing and heralding the coming of our redeemer. It’s a Christmas morning and it’s snowing to bless your morning. So, get up and get in tune with the festivities of Christmas.

Christmas winter morning brings with it many Christmas activities, especially for Children. While elders get involved in cleaning houses, children are seen outdoors throwing snowball on each other, making Christmas snowman, skiing and the like.

Another special feature of Christmas winter morning is the children’s endeavor to look into their stockings, which they had hanged by the Chimney on previous night. The custom of hanging stockings from chimneys for Santa Claus has its own history from the German folklore.

The myth has it that God Odin, who was very similar in appearance as Santa, would go on a hunt during the winter solstice celebration and children would fill their boots with sugar and carrots for Odin’s horse, Sleipnir. In return, Odin would fill up these boots with gifts and candy for the children.

Since then children hang their stockings in the night and rush to find them filled with gifts on Christmas winter morning.
