In this film Lee Remick has starred as a woman who is weighed down with intense emotional and business problems. Christmas is getting closer and Remick is hardly in the mood to celebrate.

She feels that her life has lost its purpose. Her life then changes suddenly after she dreams of her recently deceased mother (Angela Lansbury). She is reunited with her mother in that dream.

Her mother guides Remick through an inspiring replay of her childhood. This revitalizes her and let her find her purpose in life once again.
