Poinsettia flowers would be ideal for this purpose because of the tale associated with it.
Legend has it that two poor children wished to give something to Baby Jesus at Christmas Eve but unfortunately they had nothing. So, Maria collected some common weeds and arranged them into a small bouquet. Though they felt saddened by their offering and other children teasing, they gave what they could. They started placing the weeds around the manger and suddenly those weeds proliferated into blooms of red flowers. Soon the manger was full of star like phenomenon flowers. These flowers were Red Poinsettias.
Another décor for Christmas gardens would be traditional plants like Holly and Ivy. These traditional plants bring the holiday feel and make a garden look like a Christmas garden.
