Stockings constitute an integral part of the holiday traditions and our festive season would appear way too bland without a few of them hanging from the mantelpiece or the Christmas tree. Where would Santa drop the Christmas goodies if there were no Stockings? Make a few for yourself and gift a few to your near and dear ones. Knitting a stocking is not a very easy deal but trying ones hand at drawing or making a fake one can be relatively easier.
Especially during the Christmas time, the Craft stores are loaded with crewel patterns, cross stitch formats and knitting outlined fabrics. They come as sets or kits, which can be attempted upon, by adults and children alike.
The easiest way to make a stocking is by placing a real one on a construction paper and tracing the outlines of the said stocking. This traced borderline can be darkened with a pencil and the shape can be cut out. This cut out stockings can be decorated with felt paper; brocades and velvets while the cuffs can be embellished with artificial fur, beads and sequins. This structure can be placed onto a colored construction paper and made into a greetings card by folding the paper and writing a message in the inner folds. You can attach a golden string to lend it a realistic look.
