If sewing happens to be your hobby then you must have gone through a whole lot of patterns on the net or if you are among those who take up the art of sewing seriously, you must have stacked your library with some of the latest craft books in town. Contrary to what most of us believe, sewing is not all that difficult a task instead if you get the hang of it, you might just develop an interest in the same. Christmas Sewing Crafts are not meant for absolute toddlers or kids who are too young to deal with the needle and thread or other associated accessories but kids who have seen their parents working at patterns might develop a natural inclination.

Sewing patterns range from the most simple to the relatively complex ones. If your kid is a novice, try out the easiest stitches first and then proceed slowly towards the complex ones. If you are an expert, you can easily pick up any design or pattern just by looking at the layout. For your convenience we are providing you with a simple sewing pattern that would be fun to implement. Make a cute cat pillow and pass it off as a Christmas shower to your near and dear ones.
Things required are 3/4 yard of 45" width fabric (could be cotton calico, corduroy, satin, velvet etc.) for the cat's body, ribbon, embroidery floss for cat's face, quilting pins, sewing ruler and matching threads.
Print the pattern. Fold the fabric across the width and cut out the pieces. Embroider the face on the right side of one cathead piece then sew together headpieces leaving a small opening for the stuffing. Repeat procedure with hind leg and two front paws.Sew together the tail but leave the end that attaches to the body. Follow similar rules for the body leaving a small opening at the bottom for stuffing and another near the area where the tail would be inserted.
Stuff all the pieces and hand stitch pieces closed but don't forget to insert the tail in place before sealing. Hand stitch all the parts together and finish off by tying a ribbon bow around the neck. Your cat pillow is ready to rock.
